Every ACDC dentist is a member of the Australian Dental Association and has been through our ACDC Assessment & Training Process.

This involves each practice being thoroughly evaluated by Dr. Damian Ryan as to its suitability for the provision of cosmetic dental procedures.

Dr. Ryan is a dentist with over 20 years experience and owned his own cosmetic dental practice in Melbourne for 15 years. He now has decided to act as a consultant to other dentists wanting to provide cosmetic dental procedures.

Why is such assessment necessary?

Many cosmetic procedures involve a comprehensive treatment planning process and several years of clinical experience are required to be able to make clinical judgments that will be of maximum benefit to the patient.

As cosmetic dentistry is not a recognized specialist area of dentistry there is no regulation on who may perform these procedures.

This may be fine for such procedures as tooth whitening, but for such procedures as veneering and bonding high levels of clinical care and skill are required and these are only acquired through experience and ongoing education.

These are prerequisites to ACDC membership. Therefore, you, the patient, can choose your ACDC Dentist with confidence.
